Fanart Challenge: Kikyou

My entry for Week 13 of *megoomba's Weekly Fanart Challenge! [link]

This week's prompt was "Inuyasha", and I chose to draw my fave character, Kikyou.

I must say Inuyasha was my first 'mature' anime. When I first got into it I thought it was THE BEST THING EVAR...and then it just kind of dragged on too long and I lost interest. And Kikyou has been completely screwed over, and that's not cool. >( She deserves happiness just as much as anyone else...

Anyway, I chose the scene where she first gets resurrected, and she's all feeling her face thinking "WHY DO I EXIST??!!" Poor Kiki.

I'm still of the opinion that Kikyou is the definition of beauty. The type of beauty that doesn't need makeup or jewelery or fancy clothing... It's always simply and purely her. It's a refreshing type of beauty that is not often seen.

Don't get me wrong, I like Kagome too... But honestly she had enough going for her back in her own time.
