This is what I stayed up late this evening doing instead of my homework. ^^; I've been wanting to do a picture of Aki in black and white with only one color added in in certain places. (Le Blue) LOVE how I did on the hair, and I like how it looks as black. I tried to make it look like she was lying on a bedsheet... Did I achieve that? And I downloaded the brushes for the butterflies and bubbles from :iconpange:. (Although I originally wanted flower petals, but couldn't find any good brushes for it) I think I might have overdone it though. Any suggestions?

I wanted this to accent some of Aki's more sad, deep, and emotional feelings. She's shedding a few tears, yet her mouth has a hint of a smile as if someone had just found a way to cheer her up. I think I've decided that this is Marchen Aki... She has more of a reason to be depressed than Fiction Aki does. But it could be either one.

Notes to Original Character Contest:
Aki Ameko is an elf mage character that I use for a variety of different RPs with friends. Although some of the other pieces in my gallery feature her with characters that are not my own, Aki IS my own.

These are NOT Aki's naturalistic colors. The purpose of this piece was to emphasize a particular emotion and style. I will be submitting another piece that has Aki's correct colorings.

Beautiful, I love it. Out of curisotiy, are there major differences between the "Fiction" and "Marchen" varients of Aki?

Mmmm...not major, but subtle ones. They're fundamentally the same person but they grew up under different circumstances. Fiction Aki is still pretty young, sweet, and naive, with a very positive outlook on life. Marchen Aki has had her fair share of crap in her life, and is a bit more wise, less trusting, sarcastic, sometimes mean, and a more pessimistic outlook on life. Then again maybe those ARE major differences. 0_o Dunno.
