My entry for the Girltripped Fanart Contest [link] , based on this photo [link] by

For the contest we had to choose a photo from their gallery and do a fanart of it. This is one of my favorites... The look in the girl's eye and the way her hair flows is just so lovely. And when I started sketching this one out, it struck me so much that it needed some extra stuff in it to give it a touch of fantasy... So I came up with this nymph/fairy type of thing.

I had a lot of fun doing this, and I think it challenged me and encouraged me to do better.

Surprisingly, I rather like the greens and the earth tones... I don't normally work with those colors, so this was a bit of a change for me.

I started out trying to make her wings buggy like most fairies, but then it turned out kind of feathery... And now it's something in between. 0_o Oh well. I like it.

I aplogize that this came out anime-ish, since I'm not sure that's exactly what the wanted for entries... But that's the style I'm most comfortable working in, and I like it. ^_^

I like the hair!
It's one of the hardest thing to do in a picture but it looks so easy from looking at this
